God's Little Sprout is an independent Christian editorial team producing gentle, interconfessional devotionals for kids ages 0 to 10 in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

God's Little Sprout (Brotinho de Deus in Portuguese, Brotecito de Dios in Spanish) is published by an independent editorial team based in Brazil. We produce gentle Christian devotionals for kids ages 0 to 10, published on Amazon KDP since 2026 and available in three languages. The imprint is interconfessional by design — usable by evangelical, Catholic, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Methodist, and non-denominational Christian families alike.

A note on transparency. Earlier versions of this page presented the imprint's work under a persona byline. In August 2026 we consolidated to a straightforward team byline — the editorial approach, review process, and voice have not changed, but we prefer honesty about how our content is produced. If you emailed us in the past and received a reply signed with a personal name, that reply came from the same editorial team you'd reach today.

Who we are

We're an independent editorial team producing Christian devotionals for kids. The imprint is Brazilian in origin — most of our writing, editing, and review happens in São Paulo — and we publish for American, Brazilian, and Spanish-speaking Christian families. Our writers and editors come from mixed-denomination backgrounds: Catholic grandmothers who prayed the rosary, evangelical mothers who taught Sunday school, Pentecostal cousins who prayed with hands raised, quiet Baptist fathers who read the Bible before work. That mix is why the imprint reads the way it does — no denomination gets to own the vocabulary, and no family has to translate the text before reading it to their child.

We are not pastors. We are not credentialed theologians. Nobody on our editorial team went to seminary. What we bring is years of hands-on experience raising kids inside real Christian family rhythms — the kitchen table after dinner, the bedtime routine that runs long, the Tuesday when the reading plan gets skipped. We wrote the devotionals we wished someone had put in our hands.

Why we started publishing

The problem we kept hitting was a gap in Christian children's publishing between the picture-book Bible (great for ages 0-3, thin for kids past 4) and the 365-day devotional built for older readers (dense text, grown-up prayer language, no illustrations). Between those two sits a real window — roughly ages 3 to 8 — where kids need something gentler than an adult devotional but more substantial than a bedtime picture book. That window is where God's Little Sprout lives.

We wrote the first devotionals to fill that gap for our own kids. The short form was the point: 3 to 5 minutes a day, a real verse, a warm image, an open question, a prayer a small child can actually repeat. No performance. No 40-minute reading plan. No guilt when Tuesday goes sideways. What started as private worksheets became the series that now runs across three languages.

Our editorial method

Every devotional we publish follows a small, boring structure — boring on purpose, because parents buying content for their kids deserve to know exactly what they're bringing home.

3 to 5 minutes a day. Not more, not less. One short Bible verse, a real-life story of 2 or 3 sentences (meals, tantrums, the school run, bedtime), one open-ended question the child can answer in their own words, and a 2-line prayer they can repeat. No long scripts. No craft activities that need 30 minutes of prep.

Verses in real translations, always cited. No paraphrasing without citing the source. For English readers we use the NIrV (New International Reader's Version) for the youngest kids who need a friendly reading level, the NIV (New International Version) for Sunday-school-age readers, and the NLT (New Living Translation) for pre-teens. For Portuguese readers we use the NTLH. For Spanish readers we use the NTV. Every verse cites book, chapter, and verse — kids learn the real Word from the start, not a rewritten version. Verses are cross-checkable via BibleGateway.

Reviewed by real Christian leaders. Before publishing, each devotional is read by an evangelical pastor and a Catholic lay adviser. Not to seek official approval — but to make sure we're not saying anything that breaks with historic Christian tradition, or anything that sounds specifically denominational in a text meant to serve both families.

Our qualifications (with honesty)

No one on our editorial team holds a seminary degree or a formal theology credential. What we do have: 8+ years of hands-on experience walking small children through daily prayer, published Bible curriculum experience, review partnerships with credentialed pastors and Catholic lay advisers, and a stubborn refusal to publish anything we wouldn't hand to a friend's kid.

We'd rather state this here, in the most visible part of the site, than tuck it away in fine print. If you're looking for a devotional written by a credentialed pastor or an academic theologian, there are excellent options on the market and we're glad to recommend them by email. What we offer is different: content shaped by parents who live children's prayer every day, reviewed by leaders who do have that formal training.

Interconfessional position

God's Little Sprout works for Catholic, evangelical, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Methodist, and non-denominational families. We use neutral vocabulary (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, prayer, grace), we avoid formulations that belong to one tradition alone, and we don't get into doctrinal debates inside the main text. Catholic families can freely add a Marian prayer or a saint's prayer as a closing; evangelical families can close with spontaneous prayer; Pentecostal families can add speaking in tongues if that's part of their household practice.
