The Collection
God's Little Sprout (Portuguese: Brotinho de Deus; Spanish: Brotinho de Dios, upcoming) is an independent Christian devotional series for children ages 0 to 10, split into three age-band editions and published in English and Brazilian Portuguese on Amazon Kindle and paperback. The series was launched in 2026 and is written to be read in under five minutes per day, gentle enough for a tired Tuesday night, and interdenominational on purpose — usable for evangelical, Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Pentecostal, and non-denominational families.
The series is structured into three parallel age bands: Tiny Seeds / Sementinha for the earliest years (0-3), Little Sprouts / Brotinho for preschoolers (3-6), and Firm Roots / Raiz-Firme for early independent readers (7-10). Each annual edition contains 360 daily devotionals; a unified 100-devotional edition for ages 3-8 is in production for 2027. All Kindle editions are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited in both the US and Brazil.

A short Bible verse
One verse in a kid-friendly translation (NIrV in English, NTLH in Portuguese). No paraphrases — the actual Scripture, but chosen for a small ear.

Two or three sentences that land the verse in something the child already knows — a scraped knee, a lost toy, a night light, a friend at school.

A conversation prompt for parent and child — designed for the talk that happens after the reading, not the reading itself.

Short enough for a three-year-old to echo. Warm enough that a tired parent doesn't have to invent one from scratch.
The whole thing runs under five minutes. There is no "reading plan" to fall behind on. There is no daily quota to hit. The framework is built to forgive the nights you miss and welcome you back on the nights you show up.
Bible Translations Used
The three translations were chosen for two reasons: kid readability and interdenominational acceptance. Each is broadly used across evangelical, Catholic, and non-denominational communities in its language market, avoiding translation choices that would flag the devotional as belonging to any single tradition.
- English (NIrV — New International Reader's Version): a 3rd-grade reading-level translation doctrinally aligned with the NIV. Selected for its accessibility to preschool and early-elementary listeners without diluting meaning. Also acceptable in most Catholic households (though the ICB — International Children's Bible — appears in some editions as an alternate when the NIrV rendering is awkward for read-aloud).
- Portuguese (NTLH — Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje): the Brazilian Bible Society's dynamic-equivalence translation, widely used across evangelical churches and increasingly cited in Catholic children's materials in Brazil. Warm, spoken register, low friction for read-aloud.
- Spanish (NTV — Nueva Traducción Viviente, upcoming 2027): Tyndale's dynamic-equivalence Spanish translation. Chosen for its natural spoken cadence and broad acceptance across Latin American Christian traditions.
The rationale is simple: a devotional that lives on Kindle Unlimited will land in households of every Christian tradition. The translation choice cannot be a barrier at the door.
The imprint
God's Little Sprout Editorial Team
God's Little Sprout is produced by an independent Christian editorial team based in São Paulo, Brazil, publishing in English, Portuguese, and (soon) Spanish. Every devotional in the series is drafted from real family kitchen tables, beta-read by a small circle of Christian parents across denominations, and read aloud to real kids before publication.
The project began after our founding editors handed their own preschoolers highly-recommended 365-day devotionals and watched them fall asleep by page two — 320 pages of gray print, no pictures, prayers written for adults. That gap became the imprint: short enough to finish on a weeknight, warm enough for a small heart, honest enough to forgive the nights you miss.

The comparison is descriptive, not competitive — the Jesus Storybook Bible, Adventure Bible, Café com Deus Pai Kids, and 3 Palavrinhas are excellent resources in their own categories. Is God's Little Sprout evangelical or Catholic?
Neither exclusively — it is interdenominational on purpose. The series is built from Bible translations broadly accepted across denominations (NIrV in English, NTLH in Portuguese, NTV in the upcoming Spanish edition), avoids doctrinally divisive language, and is intentionally usable by evangelical, Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Pentecostal, and non-denominational families. The editorial voice was shaped by contributors from mixed-denomination Brazilian families.
What age is best to start?
There is a dedicated edition for each age band. Tiny Seeds / Sementinha is written for ages 0-3 (read-to). Little Sprouts / Brotinho is written for ages 3-6 (read-with, transitioning to early independent reading). Firm Roots / Raiz-Firme is written for ages 7-10 (independent reading with parent discussion). Pick the edition that matches the child's current reading level; you can move up when they outgrow it.
Is it available in Spanish?
Not yet. The Spanish edition (
Brotinho de Dios) is scheduled for 2027 via Kindle Translate. Currently the series is available in

How long does each daily devotional take?
Under 5 minutes. Each devotional contains a short Bible verse in a kid-friendly translation, a 2-3 sentence real-life illustration, one open-ended conversation question, and a 2-line prayer children can repeat. The format is designed to fit into an existing bedtime routine — not to add another obligation.
Is it included with Kindle Unlimited?
Yes. All six Kindle editions (three English, three Portuguese) are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited in both the US (.com) and Brazil (.com.br) storefronts. If you already subscribe to KU, every Kindle edition reads free. The upcoming unified 2027 edition and Spanish edition will also launch in KU.
Are paperback copies available internationally?
Paperback editions currently ship from Amazon US (.com) via Kindle Direct Publishing print-on-demand. International shipping is available where Amazon KDP paperback distribution is enabled — most of North America, Europe, Australia, Japan. How is this different from a children's Bible?
A children's Bible retells the biblical narrative in simplified language — the sweep of the story from Genesis to Revelation, adapted for a small reader. God's Little Sprout is a daily devotional: each entry starts from a single verse and turns it into a short reflection, a discussion question, and a prayer the child can repeat tonight. Think of it as the everyday complement to a children's Bible: the Bible tells the story; the devotional helps the child pray about it.
Which Bible translation is used?
English editions use the New International Reader's Version (NIrV), a 3rd-grade reading level translation doctrinally aligned with the NIV. Portuguese editions use the Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje (NTLH), which is widely accepted across Brazilian evangelical and Catholic communities. The Spanish edition (upcoming 2027) will use the Nueva Traducción Viviente (NTV). All three were chosen for kid readability and interdenominational acceptance.

Cada uma é amplamente usada em comunidades evangélicas, católicas e não-denominacionais no seu mercado de idioma, evitando escolhas de tradução que rotulariam o devocional como pertencente a uma única tradição.

God's Little Sprout Editorial Team é mãe cristã brasileira de duas crianças, mora em São Paulo. É autora infantil independente, escreve simultaneamente em português e inglês, com edição em espanhol a caminho. Cada devocional da série é escrito na própria mesa da cozinha, beta-lido por um pequeno círculo de mães cristãs de várias denominações, e depois lido em voz alta pros próprios filhos antes da publicação.
Começou o projeto depois de comprar pra filha de três anos um devocional de 365 dias super recomendado, e descobrir que eram 320 páginas de letra cinza, sem figura, orações escritas pra adulto. A filha dormiu na página dois. Naquela noite, começou a escrever o que viraria Brotinho de Deus — curto o bastante pra terminar numa noite de semana, quentinho o bastante pra um coração pequeno, honesto o bastante pra perdoar as noites que você perde.

Nenhum dos dois exclusivamente — é interdenominacional de propósito.
